First off, a very HAPPY NEW YEAR to all. Sharing a little learning I’ve had these past two years and into 2022. It’s called to “adapt.”
It is ok to outgrow people, places or things as long as you are growing. Wherever you go, you take yourself with you. It has been tough but it has also been good in many many ways. This profound cleansing of our entirety is one to be embraced.
I often tell my kids that this pandemic will not end without a lesson to human kind. Lessons such as taking care of our ecosystem, living mindfully and considerately acknowledging that we coexist with others. Respecting feelings and emotions of every family member or person we deal with. Raising our standards on how we would like to be treated and doing the same to others. Surrounding yourself with people of integrity, morals and higher thinking. Compassion for those suffering to name a few.
Yet the most important lesson I have learned in the past two years is adaptability. Those who know how to or at least try to adapt whether cautiously or aggressively are those who have the upper hand. You have an edge. It’s hard, take it from me. I was never a flexible person especially when it came to sickness and germs. I was so forlorn and beaten when the pandemic started. Less work. More alone time to over analyze the future. A new place to live in. Humans to take care of. All so overwhelming. Only prayer carried me through and the right person to cross my path who gave me the life changing line — “adapt”. I internalized its transformative meaning in baby steps and today, I know for sure, this pandemic and all its ways of cleansing the earth, the human mind, soul and body was meant to happen.
I tell my friends and children jokingly (but actually mean it, haha) that this pandemic was meant to slow down the millennials and it won’t end until we each grasp the true meaning of this renewing and refreshing.
Bear in mind that wherever you are is not in vain. To be happy and at peace wherever you are is the ultimate goal yet without adaptability it is impossible. •••
Wishing you all a happy, meaningful and gentle 2022. Let me take this time out again to thank you for all your years of support for my writings, projects and products.
Maraming Salamat from the bottom of my heart.
