As I always say, I advocate everything Filipino.  The talent, artists, objects, material and the like. Let me first take you to the impressive visual feast I had when I attended W/17’s latest event, featuring three homegrown artists and their genius. First up, would be, my personal friend, Ian Giron. Ian was trained under the watchful eye of Josie Natori, where he worked for several years in Fashion.  After fashion, he took a rest and found inspiration before his next foray, which is now screen embroidery. These beauties are made by Filipino artisans, using 100% local products.

The other featured artists were Tata Montilla, who has a beautiful and unique line of art work. His paintings are made of silver leaf and acid. He puts the acid in a certain way, (and place), on the silver leaf to oxidize it, to achieve colorization and pattern.

The third artist was the equally talented Mark Wilson.  He featured his stunning and strong, bleached narra wood tables.  These charming tables each had a unique feature and he named them after his children.

All these at W/17, La Fuerza Compound.  2241 Chino Roces Ave. Makati City. Owners Andy and Kaye now have a new baby. Their Veranda store, at the 4th level SM Fashion Hall.  You must check it out as well.  I got an instant sense of serenity upon entering.  Very well crafted and beautiful pieces for instant ambiance.  This store will definitely add character to your outdoor areas, whether small or large.
