I’ve had the privilege of being given this volume awhile back. Thank you so much Cheryl Tiu for my HOME&AWAY coffee table book by Lifestyle Asia. This third edition is a compilation of private spaces in the Philippines and abroad. I’ve had it for quite some time and little does the sweet giver of this book know how much I go back to it for a calm read and inspiration. It has taken me some time to blog about it, but it is at this time, I am once again so immersed in it. I am in between markets you see and the preparations that go with each food fair I join can really drain me. Not that I am complaining. I love what I do. But I am a firm believer that unwinding between ventures keeps us inspired. Thank you, Cher.
A simple pleasure I have at home is tea time. But lately, I have gotten into water infusions and have been reading about their health benefits. Hydrating with infused water is so healthy because what you soak in your pitchers bleed into the water and drinking it is like giving your body a bounty of vitamins naturally. At least two litres of infused water daily not only keeps you healthy and hydrated but keeps you trim as well. I have lost my sugar cravings and hunger pangs. My appetite has been curbed a great deal. Soon, I will have more water recipes. But for now, I would like to share my favourite spaces and homes in this book and the water infusions I had while enjoying my read.
Now on hydrating. Drinking Chlorophyll is like eating your daily dose of dark green leafy vegetables. Oh the antioxidants. As for Goji berries, studies show that eating or steeping them is like drinking the fountain of youth. They are also known to give one a sense of calm and well being. Better athletic performance and good sleep have also been reported. They are high in vitamin C, A and iron. Just like all berries, Goji shares the same benefits and they are easily available in health stores. My pitcher of lime, lemon and orange water, is an immune boosting recipe. More on infused waters, soon.
It has definitely been a day of calm and peace. I am now ready to redecorate as I am overflowing with inspiration! Ha ha. Sometimes just taking a break by staying in the moment and enjoying a good book while being mindful of your health is all you need to recharge. Tomorrow, I will be off to my next project!
The Lifestyle Asia HOME&AWAY book is available in all bookstores and newsstands.
