I first discovered how good the taste and quality of this brand was when I was at the Powerplant mall’s weekend bake fair a few months ago. I saw the confidence of the attendants in this bread station and how they were eager to give each customer that came by a sampling of their products. I had a taste of their mango cranberry loaf and was hooked.
True to form, when I was invited to their opening in the Pasig branch the other day, I saw how important it is for this brand to give people a sampling of their bread and pastries. On the island, in the middle of their store, layed a varied selection of their products with taste samples for each. We were encouraged to try whatever we fancied and what products they pride themselves on. Aside from their baked goods, they have one of the best tasting cold brews I’ve had.
Owner Tom Pohang explained to me how they brew their coffee, giving it a smooth and non-acidic drinking experience. This place is a delight and Pasig is lucky to have them. It makes me happy to see how we are coming into our own, in terms of quality. Their savouries and sandwiches are delicious too. The Breadery can give even bakeshops abroad a run for their money. The Pasig branch is their second branch. Uptown Center in U.P. Diliman, being their first. They are planning to open soon in Makati.
Tom explained their process of how they brew their coffee and gave me a taste to prove it! Special attention is given to their coffee extraction (14 hours for the cold brews) to make it pleasurable. it was, indeed, as I really dislike acidic tasting coffee! My favourites were their dolce fine shooters and cold brewed iced coffee. It didn’t need cream, sugar or any sort of additive. It was delicious on its own.
The Breadery is located on the ground floor of Emerald Mansions, F. Ortigas, Jr. Road (formerly Emerald ave.) Pasig City.
