I have a group, no, more like a gang, with crazy gang members bursting with big personalities, AND, I adore them! Because of our love for crab, and seafood, and any kind of food really, we decided to call ourselves the crabby day eating group. Bolstered by the fact that our bond began over dinner of a giant crab that was the piece de resistance at a restaurant we all wanted to try out. Since then, we have been on adventure after adventure to satisfy our cravings and try what is new and good.
We have two restaurateurs in the group (Ana of WILDFLOUR and Tippi of M.Dining and DONOSTI), a food blogger (Jin, who is the most widely followed in the country), and foodies (Angel, Leah and Triccie) with healthy appetites like me, ha ha! I will be posting many of our food worthy shenanigans as time goes by which I hope will make you more curious about Manila’s happening and booming dining scene.
After that brief background, here is our Tweedle Book Cafe adventure. Tweedle is owned by Jin’s sister and her brother in law, Benjie and Jamie Ong. It is the first of its kind. This cafe is a place one can go to for unique comfort food, steaks, burgers, great coffee and cocoa.
But what is unique to Tweedle is their line up of books, magazines and reading material. One can go alone to enjoy a good read and have quality “me time” or dine with friends while being inspired together over books and quotes. There are individual tables and a communal long table for big groups or table sharing. I liked the concept and truly had a great time. Tucked in a side street of Quezon City’s bustling food center, Jamie converted an old house into their cafe.
We had the kimcheese burger too. Unfortunately, my photo was not post worthy. But, it’s surely worth a try for you kimchi lovers out there! There is so much more to enjoy in this cafe’s menu. So if you are a resident of this area, here is a little gem of a place. For the rest of you, it is worth the visit. Because sometimes we just need to satisfy our comfort food cravings and quiet the mind.
